Located near Antigonish on the NE shore of mainland Nova Scotia. Little Tracadie was the only black settlement where the blacks received significant land grants, in what was known as the Brownspriggs grant. The only other settlers in the vicinity were French Acadians. None of the blacks from Tracadie emigrated to Sierra Leone - it is never mentioned in Clarkson's Diaries. Their leader was one Thomas Brownspriggs, who served as an Anglican lay preacher. Link: Thomas Brownspriggs Refs: Black Loyalists pp. 27 Image: Map showing Little Tracadie
